Bella is 5 years old (or will be later this month). We got her from the
RSPCA in Sydney when she was 8 months old after she inspectors took her from
her home. She is a Border Collie x German Shepherd (or Belgian) and is in
charge of the household...or so she likes to think!
To show you how clever she is, we once took her and her "brother" Casper, a
White German Shepherd to Narrabeen, where we came upon a river. My hubby
crossed the bridge to the other side and started to call the dogs. Bella was
in the water in a heartbeat and swam across. Casper, not being as brave as
her paced up and down the riverbank, looking for a place to enter. After two
minutes of him pacing and us trying to coax him, Bella got back in the
water, swam back to where he was and showed him where to get in. A few
meters later, she turned around to check that he was in the water and
following her. That was a couple of years ago and I remember it as if it
were yesterday!
She knows when it's dinner time, she knows when you wear certain clothes it
means walk time, she loves cuddles and food and ignoring her brother. She is
our angel and our home wouldn't be the same without her!
